This is a personal favorite of mine! This is a shot of the Milky Way and Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex (a star forming region 460-light years away) behind the Gay Head Lighthouse in Martha’s Vineyard in Aquinnah. This was my first Milky Way shot taken using my Canon EOS Ra, a rare mirrorless camera created specifically for astrophotography by enhancing the signal from red wavelength lights. This is most notable in the photo when observing the emission nebulae in the Milky Way itself.
