Located on the volcanically active island of Fogo in Cabo Verde, Pico do Fogo towers high in the sky. The new peak sits alone within the larger caldera of the volcano and is dwarfed only by the rising Milky Way core as it climbs overhead. This shot was taken in the summer of 2023 when I made my first visit to Fogo. It was an incredible display of natures power and was especially captivating to see at night under a sea of stars.
