Catching the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) is as much about luck as it is about technique. You have to be in the right place at the right time with the right weather to even get a chance at capturing it! For those reasons, this photo is special to me. I managed to have all of those factors align and was able to catch the 11/11/2025 solar storm at the boat launch on the southside of Gardner Lake in Salem, CT. Needless to say, the storm did not disappoint in displaying another beautiful aspect of nature.
